2011
From the Lilly Endowment press release: "... a $4 million grant to launch the Center for Law, Ethics and Applied Research in Health Information (known as CLEAR) at IU. An interdisciplinary collaboration of the IU Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research at the IU Maurer School of Law, the IU Center for Bioethics, the IU School of Informatics and Computing and the International Pharmaceutical Privacy Consortium, the center will work to ensure the accuracy, availability, confidentiality and ethical application of health information. The beneficiaries of the center's work will include patients, who will experience better outcomes when their doctors have access to the right data at the right time; researchers, who rely on health data to guide them as they develop new products and treatments; and legislators, who develop public policy relating to the ethical use of health data."
