Gregory Scott Johnson was born

June 23, 1985
The murder of Ruby Hustlar, 82, of Anderson occurred at her home.

May 16, 1986
Gregory Scott Johnson was found guilty of the murder of Ruby Hustlar as well as arson.

June 19, 1986
Gregory Scott Johnson was sentenced in the Madison Superior Court 3 by judge Thomas Newman Jr.

January 28, 1992
The Indiana Supreme Court affirmed his conviction and sentence.

October 5, 1992
The U.S. Supreme Court upheld his conviction and sentence.

December 2, 1992
The Madison County Superior Court Judge stays his execution

May 11, 2005
Clarian Health Ethics consultation took place discussing Johnson’s desire to donate to his sister.

May 12, 2005

May 16, 2005
Johnson’s attorneys argued their case before the Indiana Parole Board
Governor Daniels issues a statement that he will not consider the issue until he hears the Parole Board’s decision.

May 20, 2005
Indiana Parole Board reconvened and the decision to deny Johnson’s request was issued

May 24, 2005
The Clarian Transplant Center issued a letter to Indiana Governor, Mitch Daniels, declaring that Johnson was “not a medically appropriate organ donor for his sister”
