The Center for Bioethics is pleased to welcome our new graduate assistant, Seamus Donahue. Seamus received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Butler University, and is pursuing his master’s degree in philosophy along with his graduate certificate in bioethics here at IU Indy. He also teaches part time at Butler University.
Seamus’ research interests in bioethics primarily include end of life care and how ethical norms shift in periods of crisis vs. periods of normalcy. Seamus’ other interests include climate change ethics, emotion, and meaning in life. His most recent work examines the shift from a rights-based ethical approach in periods of normalcy to a more utilitarian framework in periods of crisis.
