Doyle to Study Healthcare Access among Hoosiers with Rare and Undiagnosed Disease

Thursday, September 18, 2025

Dr. Doyle
Dr. Tom Doyle, a postdoctoral fellow at the Center, received a NIH bioethics supplement to study issues of healthcare access facing Hoosiers with rare and undiagnosed diseases. The study will gather data through interviews and surveys with patients and clinicians to determine what barriers stand in the way of epeople accessing genetic-related healthcare. To accomplish this, Dr. Doyle will work with the community partnerships established as part of the Indiana Collaborative for Undiagnosed and Rare Disease, a U01 project funded by the NIH and led by IU School of Medicine researchers, Drs. Erin Conboy, Stephanie Ware, and Francesco Vetrini.
