- David Craig, PhD, Professor of Religious Studies, IU Indianapolis, and Faculty Investigator, IUCB:
A Bioethics Expansion?: Putting Agency Before Autonomy.
Dr. Craig’s presentation will propose expanding bioethics from protecting patient autonomy toward a broader moral investment in supporting health-seeker agency via an analysis of Indiana’s Medicaid expansion.

Robert L. Wolen Lecturer in Bioethics (co-sponsored by Dept. of Pharmacology):
Rough Justice, Wicked Problems: Using AI to Decide Who Gets Extremely Expensive Treatments. In this presentation, Dr. Fleck will explore the ethical questions raised by the prospect of using AI to identify, patients who will benefit the most from costly medical care and denying it to those who would not benefit enough.
