The annual HHC Conference brings together scholars, professionals, and students from around the world to explore how the humanities, arts, and social sciences contribute to understanding health, illness, and healthcare. The conference and HHC’s broader mission seek to deepen insight into the lived experiences of patients, caregivers, and communities, examining how these are shaped in relation to models of disease, wellness, and care. It also aims to educate the public, healthcare workers, and educators about the history, practice, and study of the health humanities. You can find the link to the full schedule here.
This conference will be led by keynote speakers Keisha Ray, PhD, presenting "Narrating Health Justice for New and Old Problems," and Caitlin Bernard, MD, presenting "Advocating for Reproductive Justice in a Post-Roe World." Dr. Keisha Ray is the director of the Medical Humanities Scholarly Concentration and an MD Professor of Oslerian Medicine. Dr. Caitlin Bernard is an assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and division Director for Complex Family Planning.
