Join IU McKinney's Hall Center for Law and Health for their Virtual Grand Rounds, "Modern Legal History of Cannabis Reforms in the United States."

This Zoom webinar will have speaker Douglas A. Berman, JD, AB. Professor Douglas A. Berman is Newton D. Baker-Baker & Hostetler Chair in Law and Executive Director of the Drug Enforcement and Policy Center at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. His teaching and scholarship focus on marijuana law and policy, criminal law, and criminal sentencing.

This presentation will highlight which legal actors have played critical roles in reform at both the state and federal levels, including how their decisions have shaped public health considerations surrounding cannabis use and regulation. It will also address the legal uncertainty surrounding ongoing efforts to reschedule marijuana under the federal Controlled Substances Act and the potential impact of federal legal change on existing state cannabis laws and practices, including implications for public health policy.
