On December 15th, 2022, Dr. Jody Madeira gave a TREATs talk: "Being a Researcher and an Advocate" In the talk, she talks about balancing research and advocacy. Dr. Madeira asks questions like, "Why advocate?" or "How does one effectively advocate?" She also talks about research as a way to advocate and also advocating as a part of research, such as in medical fields. Dr. Jody Madeira first gave a similar talk for the Center for Bioethics in 2019, but she returned to give an updated lecture following the years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
