Introduction:

In January 2020, Mark Fox, MD, PhD, MPH, gave a lecture entitled, “Clinical Research by the non-Clinician: How to Adequately Protect Human Subjects." Dr. Fox focuses on the difficulty of deciding whether clinicians should be included in clinical research performed by expertly trained non-clinician researchers.
