On Friday, 3.21.25, our Director Peter Schwartz, MD, PhD appeared on a panel on Memory University to discuss the challenges of disclosing Alzheimer's disease (AD) biomarkers and using Artificial Intelligence for AD diagnosis.
Dr. Schwartz identified several key situations where the optimal course of action is uncertain. For example, "What is the right way to tell someone who is cognitively normal, that they have AD biomarkers?" Through stakeholder engagement via inititatives like Memory University and collaborations such as the IUCB's ongoing partnership with the IADRC that we can develop best practices.
Memory University is a program developed by the Indiana Alzheimers' Disease Research Center to bring members of the Indianapolis community together to learn more about Alzheimer's disease, prevention and potential treatments. Unfortunately, the recording of this panel presentation is not yet available.
