International Holocaust Remembrance Day Events and Dr. Williams S. Silvers Holocaust, Genocide, and Contemporary Bioethics Lectureship 2022
The IU Center for Bioethics hosts the annual Dr. Williams S. Silvers Holocaust, Genocide, and Contemporary Bioethics Lectureship. The Silvers lectureship addresses bioethical issues raised by the Holocaust and other cases of genocide.
Many institutions host events on bioethics and the Holocaust around January 27th, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, as we have in the past. This year we are not hosting an event linked to this day but have created a list of multiple events available across the country, hosted by schools such as Univ. of Colorado, Yale, NYU, and others.
This IU Center for Bioethics will host the Silvers Lecture this year on April 14th, 2022 at 5 PM Eastern Standard Time. The talk will be given by Richard Gunderman, MD, PhD, entitled Man, Descending: Eugenics in Indiana and Germany. Dr. Gunderman is Chancellor’s Professor of Radiology, Pediatrics, Medical Education, Philosophy, Liberal Arts, Philanthropy, and Medical Humanities and Health Studies at Indiana University. . More details on the talk will be coming soon.
