We would like to congratulate our Faculty Investigator, Amber Comer, JD, PhD., on her new role at the American Medical Association as the Director of Ethics Policy and Secretary of the Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs. In her new role, she will be responsible for all policy activities related to ethics for the AMA. Dr. Comer will lead updates of ethics guidance in the AMA Code of Medical Ethics, which states the official policy positions of the AMA on bioethics. In addition, she will work with AMA Advocacy to identify legislative and regulatory proposals that warrant ethics review and prepare responses to government stakeholders, such as Congressional committees, US federal agencies, and state legislatures. Dr. Comer will retain her titles and appointments at IU, including IUCB Faculty Investigator, and Associate Professor of Health Sciences and Medicine.
