Dr. Lauren Nephew, MD, MAE, MSC is joining the IU Center for Bioethics as a faculty investigator. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Assistant Vice Chair of Health Equity in the Department of Medicine, at the IU School of Medicine. At Case Western Medical School, she completed a master’s program in Bioethics and later received a Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology.
Dr. Nephew’s research focuses on how the social and structural determinants of health contribute to disparities in chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma outcomes. She is actively developing interventions that improve access to liver transplantation.
